Hello again Blog. I’m still running a couple of months behind with blogging but thanks to those of you who have been visiting regularly to check. April went whizzing past with a few photography events (more on those later), May went by with some much needed family time, and now it’s nearly the end of June. Well, I think April and June have decided to swap places don’t you? We hardly had any april showers but we’ve had plenty of rain in June. But the rain won’t stop this little girl putting on her favourite romper suit from I Love Gorgeous or stop me from taking some indoor macros of these pretty larkspur flowers. C’mon sun, it’ll be nice to see you sometime…
Oh, and remember I mentioned I was waiting for Jose Villa’s book to arrive? Well, it did and I’ve been trying to put some of his advice into practice. Here are a few shots taken back in april (when the sun was shining). Jose talks about using soft wraparound light for his outdoor portraits, and I certainly love the effect of it here.
And here’s one from a brief sighting of the sun in June. The colours on these are much more saturated. I exposed the film slightly differently and the lighting is also very different. I’m still very much enjoying experimenting with film photography.
I have lots more to post for you soon!
