The one where the Wench and the Woodsman get married
St Mary’s Church Copythorne & Woodgreen Village Hall in The New Forest
So it was the Summer Solstice a few days ago, the weather has been glorious and did you see that most amazing sunset on Saturday? I’ve just had an absolute stunner of a weekend. I spent most of Saturday with Sally and Ralph (aka The Wench and The Woodsman) and their friends and family celebrating their alpine-themed wedding in the New Forest. This is the epitome of your DIY, family and friends getting together, pitching in and helping and making one glorious fun-filled wedding day. So many thoughtful details were made and included. The Mountains were important as Ralph proposed to Sally on one of their family summer holidays in the same place they ski in the Alps. The wildflower meadow, classic cars, guitars and music are all very relevant to them as a couple.
When I say DIY, the people involved in making everything are seriously talented and capable people, not least Sally and Ralph themselves who run With These Hands Weddings (providing floristry and hire props and furniture), a very talented seamstress, head chef, and you may recognise the groom and his groomsman as they have a band. I loved how everyone has been involved but specially their 3 girls who played very important roles in the run-up to the day and on the day itself. And now apparently I have lost the ability to edit down and choose sneak peeks so this blog post is officially going to be the longest one I’ve done. So please feast your eyes on just a taster of Sally and Ralph’s day.
Yes, we did stop for an actual cup of tea in the New Forest before the bride and groom arrived at the reception venue of Woodgreen Village hall.
And yes, there was a petting farm!
Sally and Ralph decided to run away after their first dance to their dream-catcher tree.
