Best Barn Wedding Venues in Hampshire

Best Barn Wedding Venues in Hampshire

From rustic and natural through to chic and luxurious, there’s a barn wedding venue to suit everyone!

Can I just say I love a barn wedding and be done with it? Well, there, I said it. Barn weddings are some of my favourites because they are typically more relaxed and laid back than, say, the high-end luxury hotel. But that doesn’t mean you have to give up the luxury either. Barn wedding venues come in all shapes, sizes and styles and they cater for every style of wedding imaginable. Whether they’re a blank canvas/dry hire venue, or they’re run as dedicated venues with everything provided, they make beautiful backdrops that can still be personalised for your wedding. So, here is my list of the best barn wedding venues you can find in Hampshire!

Rustic Dry Hire Barn Venues

I’ve spoken about these types of venues in a recent blog post about dry hire venues in Hampshire. Part of that post, if you haven’t yet read it, talks about barns so I won’t delve too much into them again in this post.

The thing to know about dry hire venues, other than being a blank canvas, is that they usually only allow bookings for a certain number of weddings a year. This could be because they’re on a working farm or site, or on private property. So, if you have a specific dry hire barn venue in mind, you might need to book early to ensure the venue for your wedding day.

One of my favourite rustic dry hire barn venues is Michelmersh Barn. It promises a rustic experience with two barns built in the 18th century. The barns even have a claim to fame, as the backdrop for the children’s TV series, Worzel Gummidge (remember that?) in the 1970s!

Luxury Barn Venues

If you’d rather book a barn venue with inclusive packages so you don’t have to source everything from scratch, there are plenty to choose from. These are on par with hotels and country house wedding venues. But they offer a different look and style, which is perfect for those couples that want something less formal or traditional.

Rivervale Barn has just the right combination of rustic and contemporary styling. You have the typical wooden beams mixed with those high ceilings and lots of glass, which is a stylish combination for any wedding day. Check out this warm, romantic autumn wedding for inspiration!

The Tithe Barn in Petersfield has it all. Textured stone walls and cathedral-esque vaulted ceilings. This venue has a real sense of drama about it, making it a joy to photograph. This winter wedding at Tithe Barn shows how perfect a backdrop it is for your wedding day.

Clock Barn is about as rustic a venue as it gets! Wooden beams everywhere and those classic barn walls full of texture. You definitely can’t get more ‘barn’ than this! It really lends itself to a vintage, rustic décor. You can just picture the reams of bunting and fairy lights strung up everywhere.

Bury Court Barn has a rather impressive history. Dating back to the 1600s, it even has an attached Oast Cottage, with those distinct round rooves you can’t fail to miss. It also has a stunning walled garden. There’s not much this venue doesn’t have for the perfect wedding day. See this Bury Court Barn wedding fair which shows off the space.

Alternative Use Barn Venues

There are also a good number of barn venues that are attached to other establishments, such as hotels. This can add some interesting dimensions to your wedding day. Perhaps some alternative backdrops for your ceremony that aren’t the usual “rustic” barn look. Here are some of my favourites.

The Great Barn at Titchfield is an impressive space. Not only is it a barn hired out for weddings and events, but it also houses the Titchfield Festival Theatre Company. This means your ceremony space is on stage while your guests are seated in theatre seats! How fun is that? This summer wedding at Titchfield Barn shows you how impressive a venue it is.

Three Choirs Vineyard is a fully functioning vineyard. It’s also the proud owners of the old winery, which has been converted into the most beautiful barn. The décor is in keeping with the elegance of the whole venue. And who doesn’t want to have wedding photographs taken amongst the vines? This autumnal wedding reception at Three Choirs shows you exactly what I’m talking about.

Lainston House is a stunning, grand red-bricked building, which houses a hotel and 17th-century barn. It’s set amongst 63 acres of countryside. So, epic backdrops for your photographs will not be difficult here!

Burley Manor Hotel dates right back to the 1200s! Located in the New Forest, you couldn’t find a grander spot for your wedding than this. What’s lovely is that Burley Manor weddings take place in an elegantly renovated barn at the back of the hotel. So, you can have your barn wedding with all the flexibility and practicality that a hotel can give you.

Norton Park Hotel is a gorgeous character hotel near Winchester. It was previously a manor house and has now been wonderfully restored. Attached to the hotel is a 17th-century tithe barn, which is where your wedding will be hosted. The space is huge and it would make the perfect summer wedding venue with all the outdoor space for your guests to enjoy the sunshine.

Kimbridge Barn is a new wedding venue which I’m excited to share with you. It’s a tearoom and café located next to the River Test. It is the idyllic country barn setting for your wedding and I’m betting there will be plenty of tea and cake as well!

Skylark Golf and Country Club is, as you might expect, a golf course with a separate barn where you can hold your wedding ceremony. The barn has been exquisitely renovated and is full of character. You know you’re going to be surrounded by wide-open spaces for lots of amazing photographs. This spring wedding at Skylark shows off everything this venue has to offer.

East Horton Golf Club boasts two converted barns where you can celebrate your wedding. The Greenside Barn is a 16th-century tithe barn and it certainly has a lot of character. But there’s also The Greenwood Room, which has a more contemporary feel with its vaulted ceilings and oak flooring. So, you might need to visit to decide which you prefer for your wedding!

As you can see, there are plenty of choices when it comes to choosing a barn wedding venue here in Hampshire. And each one has something unique to offer you.
