Kerensa and Iain’s summer wedding
at St Mary’s Church Whitchurch
It’s Kerensa and Iain’s first wedding anniversary today and I’d like to wish them a very happy anniversary. It’s taken a while to post photos from their wedding but here it is finally! What a hot sunny summer’s day it was on their wedding day. I remember Kerensa saying it was just as well as their wedding was planned for such a day like it, starting with everyone walking to the local Church and back to their garden reception (via a bridge where of course guests couldn’t resist playing pooh sticks) and through fields and woodland. Their garden reception included lots of games and even a woodland trail (beware of the bear!), and very informal wedding breakfast where guests sat where they wanted – on picnic blankets and garden chairs and of course a fun and lively Ceilidh in the evening under the garden marquee. I’m sure that even if it had rained, it would still have been as fun, colourful and exciting but that warm summer afternoon sun did make it feel like a touch more relaxed. I also loved that Kerensa and her family did a spot of bell ringing and Iain’s parents very much involved in the church ceremony, and everyone pitched in (dresses all handmade), the cupcakes at the afternoon tea and drinks at the Church were also home made, and all the awesome flowers and decorations put together by family and friends. The following photos are just a few from their colourful wedding.
