Hampshire wedding photographers at Duncton Mill

Featuring Ash Darling photography

Hi everyone!  It’s the last day of my Series of Featured wedding suppliers from the Stansted house Wedding fair.  The wedding fair was yesterday but I am tagging Ash Darling and myself at the end so that you can learn a teensy bit more about us!  The idea of this series was to feature the suppliers involved in the Duncton mill photoshoot for Helen’s Doily Days magazine and organised by Alex from The Nostalgic wedding fair from the suppliers exhibiting at her next wedding fair.   Although I was technically photographing the day, I did get in on the act and got my own hair and make up done and Alex and Helen took over my camera and snapped pics of me and Ash in a “shoot out”.

And Ash took my portrait in Doily days Issue 5.  Since you’re on my website, you probably already know a little bit about me (take a look at my About page here if not) but read on below for Ash Darling’s mini interview.  Ash now spends her time between Bristol and Surrey but I am hoping that one day we can work together again.

What do you love about your business?
I absolutely love meeting new people and collaborating – getting to be creative all the time is the best fun! Clients are always amazing me with their fab ideas and it’s so exciting to be a part of. Being a photographer is like having a front row seat at every wedding.

What’s the most popular item/trend you’re seeing for weddings in 2015?
It’s not so much a product or theme but I’m finding that in general couples are a lot more confident in finding new ways to truly express themselves
through their wedding, whether it is a little nod to something they love or selecting/removing the traditions that feel right for them.

If you were to get married again or if you were to get married in 2015/16,
what would your wedding be like?

A Midsummer Nights Dream or a Georges Méliès film.

What’s your own favourite service that you provide yourself?

I absolutely love doing engagement shoots, it’s so relaxed, giggly and fun- a great way to get to know each other and practise your model skills before
the big day!

What’s your favourite wedding top tip?

If you’re DIYing –  triple the time you think you’ll need. And then triple it again!

And just for a bit of fun, here’s a mini shoot out between Ash and I.

What’s your favourite tipple?

I’m a sucker for a very large glass of Tempranillo.  (mmm I like a bit or red too)

What’s your favourite snack?

Macarons – obsessed.  (me too! and generally cake obsessed…)

Thank you Ash, and thanks to Creations of Chichester, Toni Todd, and Caroline Kearney of Mobile hair and beauty for working on the team on the day!

Phew, thanks to all of my readers and first time visitors!  I hope you found this series of featured Hampshire and West Sussex wedding suppliers interesting, but I will now be going back to my usual weekly blog posts showing some of my children and family photosessions, and wedding and engagement shoots.  Come back soon!
