Featuring Kim Styles Jewellery
Hi everyone! A little while ago I was asked by Alex from The Nostalgic wedding fair to photograph some of the Hampshire wedding suppliers involved in their next fair. So off I popped and met with lots of new fabulous wedding suppliers. One of them is Kim Styles Jewellery. I just fell in love with her work and actually commissioned her to resize my wedding and engagement ring and to redesign my wedding ring whilst she as at it! I am absolutely in love with my rings – they actually fit and my wedding ring is now extra special with the added Kim Style natural elements of a wild rose and a tendril (things which have significant and personal meaning for both my husband and I).
I was delighted that she agreed to this little mini interview with me. Please read on, take a look at the photos from the summer shoot, and do get in contact with her for your bespoke jewellery needs.
My business came about because I have always loved working with my hands, I used to help my dad who was an engineer and I took a 3D design course after A levels and my tutor suggested that Jewellery might be the right direction for me. Well she was right, as soon as I started my jewellery degree I knew it was exactly what I wanted to do!
I am heavily inspired inspired by nature, the tiny details that most of us miss, I like to look very closely at plants to see how they work and use those details in my designs.
My favourite item is my Hydrangea Ring, I bought the pastel sapphires and they reminded me so much of the pale pinks, greens and blues of hydrangeas that I made the ring specifically. It has white and yellow gold flowers and the pale pretty sapphires. It is a rather special one-off piece that took many hours to make. I was a little sad to see sell!
My most popular item has been my ‘Love Token’Ring, a silver halo band with a solid 18ct gold chunky heart. I think it is popular because of the simple design and the two colour combination, also it’s a heart!
