New Years Eve Wedding at The Ivy Winchester

Tanya and Paul’s New Years Eve Wedding

at The Ivy Winchester

I was so excited to be chosen to photograph Tanya and Paul’s New year’s Eve wedding in Winchester. Not only was it in my local city but Tanya and Paul were such fantastic hosts that they included me in their celebrations! I even went away with my very own caricature by Alan Simpson – Tanya had arranged for individual caricatures instead of traditional favours which each guest took away with them. What a marvellous idea, don’t you think? Anyway, this is not about me and how much I enjoyed their wedding, but it is about how unique, warm and welcoming they were as well as their friends and family on their wedding day. It made their already special New Years Eve wedding even more special.

Tanya and Paul got ready at The Winchester Royal Hotel and walked to the Registry office. Afterwards, a walk around Winchester City Centre, elicited many congratulations from passers by and we stopped off at the newly opened Ashby’s who kindly invited us in to take a photo at their flower wall (thanks to Tanya’s sister meeting and chatting to the owners the previous night!) Tanya and Paul chose the Butter Cross room at The Ivy for the beautiful art deco decorations and of course the super menu at The Ivy. They had so many lovely personal touches, from the cake and flowers being made by close family (cake also made by Paul) and just take a look at that cake topper! I didn’t stay until the end (I hear the celebrations went on until the wee small hours) but I’m sure the party went off with a bang and I’m also sure that their celebrations with the larger group of friends and family later in the year will be even more fun and fabulous.

Here are some of their photos!
