Wedding Celebrations at Hamble Village

It was with great excitement and trepidation when I rolled up and shot my friend’s wedding earlier this month.  Not only were Jill and David friends of the family but also Jill is an established wedding photographer herself!  Jill opted to have a relaxed afternoon getting ready at Southampton Airport Park Hotel, and took her own getting ready photos.   Her good friend and fellow photographer Sarah Dutton and I shared the photography duties at St Andrew’s Church in Southampton where Jill and David had a beautiful and moving ceremony.  I took the family formals with the help of Jill herself at the church whilst Sarah went on to Hamble Village Memorial Hall to photograph the drinks reception and wedding decorations.  I then followed Jill and David to Hamble Point Marina (where Jill and David took the opportunity to practice a few dance moves for their first dance) and we took a handful of romantic couple shots with the beautiful blue skies and the river as backdrop.  Here are a few of the images I took.

The wedding had so many special moments such as the anniversary dance where all married couples start on the dancefloor and slowly eliminated with the couple who have been married the longest staying on the dance floor.  The groom’s mum and dad showed us all how it was done.

There were other special touches such as 20+ children having their own space being entertained by a super team of childminders and Magic Jack, David’s brother expertly taking on the MC duties, and many more.  The full gallery will be ready in another couple of weeks on my client site here, but I’m sure Jill will have the entire gallery of all the images taken at the wedding by all of us in due course.  Thank you to everyone there for helping me have such a great time photographing (and partying afterwards!)
