Vintage vehicles for hire for your wedding day
I’m very much looking forward to finding out a little bit more about Mr and Mrs behind Vinnies Vintage Vehicles who are on Day 5 of this week’s Hampshire wedding supplier feature. Not only that, there’s also a little sneak peek of Ozzie who I am predicting will shortly become a superstar on his own right. Let’s hear from them!

From Karen and Vince:
Vinnie’s Vintage Vehicles (you can call us Vinnie’s) is a husband and wife team (Vinnie and Karen) with a mahoosive passion for nostalgic vehicles. We offer an eclectic collection of wedding vehicles with highly personal touches that will make your wedding car photos fit right in with the rest of your wedding. It’s important to us that you enjoy every minute of the journey and will remember your time with us for many years to come.

Choosing your wedding transport is such an important decision because it’s more than just getting you to your wedding on time; it’s about creating a very memorable experience in those first few moments as you step outside as newlyweds….that first bottle of bubbly…that first journey together…that first conversation. That’s why we go the extra mile by getting to know you, making personalised bunting, adding touches that mean something to you, making handmade cards, creating lovely flower swags, and even popping a hot water bottle and blanket in on cold days.

Of course, none of this would be possible without our lovely family of cherished vehicles, each with their own special character! From iconic VWs to classic British cars to last century retros, we have vehicles which offer classic looks in vintage or alternative style.

If you’re wondering how we started, well, it was rather by chance. Redundancy money was put into buying a restoration project campervan from Oregon (actually a pile of rust). When the old girl was completed in April 2013, we took her to a local car show at Butser Hill one Sunday for ‘a nice day out’. Sleepy Jean, as we’d christened her, was so popular that she even had people asking if she could be hired out for weddings. The rest, as they say, is history and we now have 7 wedding vehicles; Sleepy Jean the Sundial Splitscreen, Bluebell the Beetle, Sprout the Austin A30, Spartacus the Consul Capri, Amaya the Figaro, Poppy the Sunbeam Alpine, and Ella the baby Scooby campervan.

Transport trends change a lot but you’ll always have people who just adore certain types of vehicles. It’s because that’s what they’ve known from their past, or what they’ve dreamed of, or they just fall in love with something for no apparent reason…they just do! One of the greatest things of our job is hearing the wonderful stories people have of their old cars, or cars their parents had – their faces literally light up.

Things you won’t know about us…
We have a 1950’s Lambretta in our kitchen…Karen loves Marmite…Vince loves peach Schnapps…our dog Ozzie has his own Facebook page…we were married at Stansted House near Rowlands Castle…Karen was born in an Abbey and raised in a Castle…we have a petrol pump in our kitchen…Sleepy Jean has a garden in her…we have a 1950’s bakers bicycle in our hall (and a huge fabric sunflower)…we are 101 between us (definitely vintage!)

Thank you so much Karen and Vince, I loved learning more about you! If you’d like to hire both Sleepy Jean and Bluebell together, I believe Karen and Vince have a special offer on! Go see them At Stansted Park on sunday 8th March at the Nostalgic Wedding Fair!
