So I was thinking back to my own wedding the other week, and looked at my album, reminisced a bit (marvelled at how young and skinny we both were!) and thinking how some of my favourite photos are of my other half waiting in the bar with his grooms-men and some of our friends. In those days, it wasn’t that common for photographers to cover the groom prep, and although his was only a few reportage-style shots at the bar, it was still really special to me to see snapshots of what he was doing before I turned up! So fast forward to last year where I did quite a few groom preps. They’ve been great fun, sometimes I turn up before breakfast (as is the case with the photos below), sometimes at the church whilst they are waiting, often at the bar or a pub! I think they add quite a bit to the story of the day and I’m sure brides love them too. This is where having two photographers comes in handy if you are both getting ready in different places, although it isn’t always necessary as it can be done with one photographer as well. Just make sure there’s enough time for your photographer to get from where you are, to where the groom is eagerly, or nervously waiting for you!
