J & P’s Pre-wedding session on the beach

It is a pleasure to blog some of the images from this pre-wedding photography session which took place in the winter!  Yes, these were shot in winter, and we were very lucky to have such glorious sunshine just after the storms in february.  It was a little windy but these two kept each other warm.  This is Jenni and Paul’s local beach and is somewhere they visit regularly.   I do think it’s lovely to shoot a couple somewhere meaningful to them for their pre-wedding or engagement session if at all possible.  It makes things a little bit more special and you can see they are in their element.  This couple are so relaxed and easy-going, I am really looking forward to shooting their wedding in may, which incidentally is also going to be by the beach!

My Top Tip for your pre-wedding or engagement photos:

Choose a location that is special or personal to you both.  You’re more likely to be relaxed in a familiar environment!

This post is part of my blog circle of film-loving photographer friends from around the world so do please visit Jen Golay’s blog post here if you’d like to see more images shot on film.  This month’s theme is also about being “up-close”.  I chose to interpret this as being “up-close and personal” and hope that these loving engagement photos fit the theme!  Techy info:  most of the above images (bar 2) were developed and scanned by The UK Film Lab. Film used were a combination of portra 160 and fuji 400N, shot on a mamiya 645 pro.
